Stevie J Avoids Prison, Gets 3 Years Probation For $1.3 Million Child Support Case

Instead of handing down a prison sentence for the $1.3 million delinquency in child support payments, a judge sentenced Stevie J to three years probation, reports Bossip.com.

The record producer/reality show star was accused of knowingly evading child support payments from $6,608 to $8,557 a month from 2001 through 2014. As of February, Stevie owed a reported $1,304,835 in back support to his ex-wife Carol Bennett.

Late last year, Stevie (real name Steven Jordan) entered a plea of guilty to a misdemeanor charge of failure to pay child support, even though he raked in $27,000 a month since 2012 from Love & Hip Hop as well as $100,000 in royalties over a 10-year period.

The court will garnish 25 percent Stevie’s monthly wages until the debt is paid.
