Atlanta was in the news all last week after a portion of I-85 collapsed on Thursday (March 30) and the man accused of setting the fire that destroyed part of the interstate talked with companions about smoking crack cocaine before the blaze started, according to a document released Saturday.
Basil Eleby, 39, was charged on Saturday with first-degree arson in connection with the fire. Wearing a navy jumpsuit, flip-flops and handcuffs, Eleby reluctantly shuffled into a courtroom at the Fulton County jail for his first appearance hearing Saturday morning.
Judge James Altman announced the arson charge, which was added on top of an earlier felony charge of criminal damage to property, and set bond at $200,000.”
That was a lot of damage done by an alleged crack user and The King of The South and ATL ambassador T.I. seems to call a flag on the arrest and makes you question if the guy was a scape goat. T.I. commented on Instagram,
“Now I’ve heard some far out sh*t in my day…but this shit here tho?!?! In all my experiences wit crack &/or crackheads I ain’t NEVER seen nothing like this sh*t!!! Js in my hood never set anything but da DOPE on fire🔥🔥🔥!!! #OnlyInAtlanta#SomethingDontAddUp“
What do you think? Is Tip on to something or just reaching. He has a valid point though.
