During the interview, T-Minus, real name Tyler Williams, thoroughly explains how he made “Blem” from scratch. Williams also goes into detail on what it’s like to work with Drizzy when meticulously combing through huge selections of beats together.

“As soon as I hear Drake writing to the beat, I just, man it’s the best news I get because Drake is the pickiest artist I’ve ever had to work with,” said the Canadian producer about the OVO creative process.

T-Minus also breaks down how he created the bouncy beat including how he created the kick drums to adding various effects and even removing a vocal sample.

“A lot of times when I’m making beats for Drake and I put little vocal chants or vocal sounds, he always asks me to take them out. So, you know I was kind of like, ‘shh let’s turn it down a bit,'” he explains. I think for most rappers, it’s kind of distracting.”

T-Minus also elaborated on what the term “blem” actually means.

“So, blem is a term may be used in the U.K., I know it’s used in Toronto, but it’s a word I’ve heard from when I was like, in high school,” T-Minus said. “I remember it being used to [describe being] high, if you’re blem, you’re red. Your eyes are red, you’re high.”

The “Swimming Pools” producer has also crafted the beat to “Sacrifices” featuring 2 Chainz and Young Thug, which also appears on the More Life playlist.
