Tupac Biopic Gets Release Date [Watch The Trailer]

The Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me has finally gotten a release date. Makaveli’s life story will be released in theatres on June 16, the day that would have been the iconic MC’s 46th birthday.

Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment has acquired the U.S. rights to the Morgan Creek Entertainment film that chronicles 2Pac’s life which entailed being born to a Black Panther, Afeni Shakur, and going on to becoming a great poet, actor, activist and Hip-Hop legend. The film will also detail his jail stint and his time on Death Row Records.

All Eyez On Me was diredted by Benny Boom and stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Pac.  Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Dominic Santana, Jamal Woolard, Keith Robinson, Lauren Cohan and Hill Harper also star in the flick.

In related news, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017 has been announced and Hip-Hop’s own Tupac Shakur will be one of the inductees on April 7. Tupac becomes the first solo rap artist to be bestowed the honor and joins other Mt. Rushmore of Hip-Hop acts N.W.A, Run-D.M.C., Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five.

Get ready it’s coming. And please no whining about the date. It’s Pac’s b day. We’re all anxious for it to come out but people gotta remember it’s a major film and there’s a lot of process to releasing major films. Because it was Tupac a lot of buzz was created word of mouth even while we were filming which usually doesn’t happen until a movie is about to come out. This was no regular movie so you’ve been hearing about it since we started. It’s actually right on par with the timing to release a major film after you wrap shooting.
