Tupac’s Rhyme Partner Big Syke Found Dead at 48

2 Pac’s rhyme partner Big Syke of the respective groups Thug Life and The Outlawz was found dead at his home in Hawthorne, California late Monday night according to TMZ. No foul play is suspected in the untimely death of the 48-year-old rapper whose real name was Tyruss Himes. While an autopsy will be performed, Syke was said to have  a history of heart issues and obesity.

2Pac recruited Syke for his Thug Life Vol. 1 group album in 1994, which also featured group members Mopreme, Macadoshis, and The Rated R. Syke also used the moniker Mussolini as a member of The Outlawz. In addition, he  released four solo albums-  Be Yo’ Self, Big Syke Daddy, Street Commando and Big Syke.

Syke and 2 Pac were close friends and Syke was often featured in movies, DVD’s and magazine articles speaking on his slain friend. Big Syke further made his presence felt on Tupac’s hits like “All Eyes On Me,” Picture Me Rollin,'” and “Check Out Time.”
