Under Armour and Migos Create ‘Culture’-Themed Super Bowl Cleats for Falcons Receiver Julio Jones

Atlanta Falcon‘s star receiver Julio Jones is rumored to be sporting custom cleats for Super Bowl LI this Sunday paying homage to the A and it’s culture. Designed by Under Armour and based on the Migos cover art for new album, Culture and Atlanta TV series, the cleat gives a stylish tribute to the city with too much sauce.

Under Armour released images of the black and red creations Friday (Feb. 3). Painted by Dan Gamache of Mache Custom Kicks, the cleats feature a mash up of staples from Atlanta.

Beloved images of the Waffle House, Georgia Peach, Intestate 85 and more as well as Falcon’s-own Jones in action are shown on either side of the shoe.

The Atlanta series logo is printed on the front and the studs are a gleaming metallic red. The overall design is sleek while the themed embellishments offer an urban touch.

At the press release the brand stated what influenced their design concept stating:

“The cleat personifies how Atlanta is dominating the sports, culture, music and TV scene, as Julio looks to lead the Falcons to their first NFL title.”

Quavo, one-third of the Migos who commissioned the design, posted the picture on Instagram with caption “The Julio Jones custom game cleat way C U L T U R E @uafootball #superbowlli” and Gamache also released images revealing the release.

There’s no word on if Julio will wear the cleats during the game considering the strict NFL dress code, however players have notoriously taken the L and paid the hefty fine to express their individuality. With the “dab” familiar to athletes and fans alike, the Migos inspired shoes would surely be a crowd favorite and maybe give Jones added inspiration to lead Atlanta to victory.
