Comedian Dave Chappelle has always been a humanitarian. In 2016 after being booked to perform at a benefit concert that aimed to raise money for families affected by the contaminated water in Flint, Chappelle canceled due to a prior Oscars obligation. The comedian recently made it up in a big way.

Chappelle recently announced a $50,000 donation to assist with the Flint Water Crisis. Chappelle made the announcement at The Whiting earlier this week. He said that the recipient of the check will be the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. While performing on stage, Chappelle said, “I want you to know that just by coming to see me you supported this city. I’m not taking a dime.”

It is safe to say that Chappelle is good with the people of Flint. Based of the crowd’s reaction about the $50,000 being donated, the 2016 cancellation is no biggie.
