DMX Could Face More Jail Time for Violating Bail Conditions

It seems like DMX can’t catch a break. The ‘No Sunshine’ rapper’s recent trip to St. Louis might cost him even more jail time for violating bail conditions.

Last month, DMX was arrested for tax evasion of $1.4 million. Although the rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges, he could still face up to 40 years in prison. He was released from jail after posting a $500,000 bond. And as a strict condition of bail, he was ordered to not travel outside of New York City without permission from his parole officer.

But on Wednesday (August 9), Manhattan Federal Judge Jed Rakoff announced that he had received word that DMX has violated his bail conditions, Page Six reports. According to Rakoof, “the Court has received a report from pretrial services indicating that the defendant may have violated the terms of his pretrial release in numerous respects,” Judge Rakoff said in an order docketed Wednesday afternoon.

Murray Richman, DMX’s lawyer, confirmed that the defamed rapper did travel out of New York without the permission of his parole officer. DMX was requested to appear in court for violating his parole. The Ruff Ryder is facing 14 counts of federal tax evasions after he allegedly conducting a “multi-year scheme” to conceal millions of dollars from the IRS. He was also accused of falsifying bankruptcy documents and avoiding personal bank accounts all in attempt to avoid paying $1.7 million in taxes.
