French Montana Sends Kite to “Muslim Brother” Kevin Gates on Extended Jail Stay

Kevin Gates was scheduled to come home from jail in Polk County, Fla. on Friday (March 24). On the day of his release, however, the Louisiana rapper got word that he was to remain in jail and extradited to Cook County, Ill. to face an outstanding weapons-related warrant. After French Montana got the news, he sent an online kite via Instagram to his “Muslim brother.”

“Me and chinx (rest in peace🙏) was the first dudes to do a feat With this brother,” he captioned in a pic of Gates in an orange jail jumpsuit. “Before People even knew who he was 2011 I hate watching the system and all the hate killing us and our brother and killing the people that love us #freegates #freemax #foreverchinx #freekodac #freepenthouse.”

As previously reported, Mr. “I Don’t Get Tired” was originally serving a 180-day sentence for battery after kicking a female fan named Miranda Dixon during his concert at Rumors Nightclub in Lakeland, Fla. back in 2014 after she tugged at his shorts.

“I kicked them, I wanted them off me,” he testified in an attempt to have the charges dropped using the Stand Your Ground defense, adding that after the girl grabbed him so many times, he “kicked her in self-defense.”
