JAY-Z Is Dropping a Physical Version of His ‘4:44’ Album That Will Include Bonus Songs

Since dropping his latest album 4:44 exclusively on Tidal this past Friday (June 30), JAY-Z has been praised as a second coming hip rap music. Although the album will be released to iTunes and Apple Music next week, Jigga is planning on releasing physical versions with previously unreleased tracks, according to No I.D., the super producer who laid down every track on 4:44.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stonethe producer, whose real name is Ernest Dion Wilson, discussed getting together with Hov on the project a year ago, pushing Jigga to talk about his personal life on the album and the bonus tracks on the upcoming physical album version.

“There’s three more songs that are coming out as bonuses,” the 46-year-old Chicago native revealed. “James Blake came in and joined into the process. There’s more coming shortly that’s equally as revealing.”

Reportedly, the song “Adnis,” will appear on the physical version. The Brooklyn rapper shared a snippet of a new track last month in the trailer for the upcoming film. The trailer features his name as “JAY:Z” and stars Moonlight’s Mahershala Ali boxing, while a snippet of “Adnis” plays.

Before the album’s release, “Adnis” was the only visual associated with 4:44. Since then, Jigga has offered an animated video of “The Story of O.J.,” directed by Mark Romanek and Hov himself.

The animated short film features a lot of racially charged imagery which compliments the point he intended to make with the Nina Simone-sampled track. Featuring images channeling cartoons from the 1940s and 1950s, the short features an exaggerated image of “Jaybo” meant to depict a “Sambo” type character who spits JAY-Z’s bars over some pretty intense scenes.
