Was JAY-Z’s Verse on “Get Throwed” Remix a Diss?

We can all recite the lyrics from Bun B’s 2005 single “Get Throwed.” But what we probably don’t know is the unnamed person JAY-Z is dissing on the records.

On the song which also features Pimp C, Z-Ro and Young Jeezy, Jigga rhymes: “Let it breathe a little bit/ He’s off his rocker, he’s a lil schitz’/…Sure, y’all niggas want war/ Y’all got it backwards, y’all should want raw/ Y’all should want more (and more, and more uh!).”

According to Bun in a recent interview on Rap Radar podcast with Elliott Wilson and B.Dot Miller, Hov is throwing shots at someone. And while the trill OG did give hints to who JAY’s target was, he didn’t spill the beans.

“If you listen to ‘Get Throwed’ to Jay’s verse—for some people it’s going to be clearer than others—but there was shots fired in bars 8 to 12, and there were more shots from bars 12 to 16,” Bun.

Naturally, B.Dot and Wilson tried to pull it out of him. “Nas?” Elliot questioned.

“Nah nah nah. This was before that,” says Bun. “This was more internal. You go back and listen to it.”

“Are you saying internal, more Roc-a-fella type?” Wilson pressured.

Bun B nodded, saying, “That’s the only clue I’m going to give you.”
