Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates is still managing to give his fans some new while behind bars. Yesterday (July 20), Gates released a new song called “No Love”, which is the first release we’ve gotten since he “What If” back in April. Kevin’s wife and business partner, Dreka Gates, took to her social media last week and teased fans that Kevin was indeed working on a new project, “BTW working on Kevin’s new project right now and I’m not going to lie, I’m nervous as F b/c I’m not getting any input from him & he’s fully entrusted me w/everything so there’s a lot of pressure!” she tweeted. “I respect real artists and their artistry and to be making ALL of the decisions is scary but rest assured the music is always fire as F!”.
Back in late April, Kevin Gates was sentenced to 30 months in prison for felony gun possession in Cook County, Illinois and is currently sitting in an Illinois jail. Gates’ lawyer, Herschel Rush said in a statement to TMZ that the charges carried a maxium of 10 years in prison, so the team is “very pleased with the result of 30 months.”
