R. Kelly Allegedly Cancels Tour Dates Over Poor Ticket Sales

The Pied Piper of R&B just may be feeling the brunt of recent sexual allegations of running a sex cult with young women. According to TMZ, R. Kelly has cancelled four of his 10 upcoming “After Party” tour dates yesterday (July 31).

Two shows in Louisiana, one in Dallas and another in Los Angeles were all cancelled. The celebrity media outlet reported that the stops were axed due to poor ticket sales. His Friday night show in Virginia was reportedly “barely half full, and fans were pissed he only played for 45 minutes.”

In spite of the dwindling crowds, sources close to Kelly told TMZ the tour will go on and explained the Los Angeles show was only canceled “because of a scheduling conflict with another nearby stop.” The sources would not comment about the other 3 terminated shows.

As previously reported in other R. Kelly news, the R&B singer equipped himself with D.C.-based attorney Monique Pressley to head his legal team, according to The Daily News. Pressley, arguably one of the best black legal experts in the business, represented Bill Cosby in his sexual assault case.

Last month, Kelly proved to still be living up to his ways when the R&B singer was accused of running an abusive sex cult. Apparently, two women have been living with the singer are accusing him of holding them against their will and controlling their every move.

According to a former personal assistant to Kelly, he would tell the girls that they could only wear jogging suits when other men are in the house, and when they are in the same room as other men, they have to face the wall. All are efforts for the men not to admire their bodies.

They were originally signed over to Kelly to help jump start their singing careers. But it seems to have quickly turned into something sinister.

Kelly has denied the allegations against him in a statement his lawyer, Linda Mensch, released to the media. “Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him,” Mensch wrote in a statement. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”

Kelly seems to be living up to his namesake “The Pied Piper” by continuing to use his musical career to lure young women into his lifestyle.
