Sza Drops Hot New Video for “Drew Barrymore” Inspired by the Actress

SZA has dropped a new visual and it’s amazing.

The 20-something, eclectic, misfits can rejoice once more. Just one day after debuting at #3 on the Billboard Charts, TDE’s SZA dropped her new music video for her hit single “Drew Barrymore” and Twitter can not get enough of it.

SZA’s new video follows her and her misfits around town to their random adventures of sledding and partying. Throughout her many outfit and scene changes, still wondering if she will ever be good for her crush.

Most millennials do not get the concept behind the song “Drew Barrymore”. The singer took to Twitter to explain that the idea for the song was inspired by one of the legendary actress Drew Barrymore’s most memorable character, “Josie Geller”, from the film Never Been Kissed. Barrymore played an undercover journalist who goes back to high school to catch up on how the average teen lives but instead is horribly reminded of her awkward teenage years. Barrymore’s character never felt like she was good enough for the more popular guy in school who she had a crush on.

Barrymore even made a guest appearance in the video dressed as Geller. As if debuting at #3 wasn’t enough, SZA’s #blackgirlmagic isn’t stopping now. The CTRL songstress will also be gracing the stage at the 2017 BET Awards on June 25th.
