Will Smith to Star in Live Action ‘Aladdin’ Reboot

From Hip-Hop, to television, to the big screen, Will Smith’s career has been nothing short of amazing. The rapper turned actor has a long list of Hollywood blockbusters on his resume. Just when you thought Will Smith was slowing it down, he is gearing up to return back to the big screen. This time around Smith will be starring in a children’s film. It will be his first children’s film since 2004’s Shark Tale. It has been announced that Smith will be working with Disney and is set to play the Genie in the remake of the 1992 animated classic, Aladdin.

Aladdin is one of Disney’s most successful films. Aladdin was the highest-grossing film of the year in 1992. The animated classic also won an Academy Awards for best score and best song for “A Whole New World.”

The live action remake of ‘Aladdin’ will be directed by Guy Ritchie. Actress Naomi Scott will be playing Princess Jasmine and newcomer, Mena Massoud will be starring as Aladdin. There is no word as to when the film will hit movies theathers, but it is sure to be a hit.
