Z-Ro Arrested for Felony Aggravated Assault, Accused of Beating Ex-Girlfriend

Houston rap legend Z-Ro made his first appearance in court today (July 27) to face felony aggravated assault charges against his ex-girlfriend/ rapper Just Brittany, ABC 13 reports.

The judge reportedly ruled, that Ro (real name Joseph McVey) must have no contact with Brittany (whose real name is Brittany Bullock). McVey’s attorney, Chris Adams, said Bullock continues to attempt to contact McVey. Adams said they appeared on a radio show together shortly after the alleged assault.

TMZ reported the alleged assault took place on April 29 after the couple had planned to meet at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Houston. The restaurant was closed. So instead, she reported to authorities, that Z-Ro told her to come over to his place in Katy. And that’s when the alleged beating began.

According to the police report, Z-Ro slapped, punched and dragged her around his house while holding a pistol. Roughly 90 minutes into the assault, Bullock said that she got sick and vomited. She asked for permission to use the bathroom. While in there, she grabbed her mobile phone and started recording.

When she walked out, the beating and verbal abuse continued for another 21 minutes. In the report, she says Z-Ro told her, “You’re dead.” Brittany asked why he’d pushed her, and demanded … “Get you f**king hands from around my neck!”

Bullock didn’t report the incident to Harris County, Texas authorities until Monday (June 24).
Court documents say that he slapped, punched, dragged and choked Bullock while holding a pistol.
