Kodak Black has received criticism in the past for disrespecting his Hip-Hop elders but today he pays homage to LL Cool J by remaking Uncle L’s classic “I Need Love.”
But while LL was showing love to the ladies, young Kodak reminisces on his love for the hood, his 1800 block and some lost friends along the way. The XXL Freshman spits,
“You would think I do construction I was out there selling rocks/I was in the rap game and still on the block/I was sitting in a cell when Enell got shot/That’s my cousin swear to god it would’ve been different if I was out.”
Kodak’s next project Painting Pictures is also on deck for March 31st and he’s currently rocking out on his Back & Better tour. Peep the remaining dates below.
Take a listen to “I Need Love” now, the D-Boy version.
